作为一个生活在上市部ilding, getting rid of mould is often top of mind. As I mentioned in my recentreview of the ProBreeze 20L Premium Dehumidifier, I've been fighting a constant battle with humidity levels and condensation causing mould on my walls for years, so I finally decided to invest in some decent dehumidifiers to tackle the problem.
Having successfully got on top of condensation and mould in my home office, I turned to our guest bedroom where I required a much more affordable and compact solution. Thankfully, the Hysure 700ml Automatic Dehumidifier isavailable to buy on Amazonfor under £50 and it promised to be more energy-efficient, lighter and quieter than its competitors.
Below, I share my thoughts on the performance of this affordable dehumidifier and whether I think it's worth the purchase.
First impressions of the Hysure 700ml Automatic Dehumidifier
When I first opened up the box I was astonished by how lightweight this dehumidifier was – you can literally hold it up with one finger! It's a fairly sleek and modern looking dehumidifier, so it won't be out of place in a lot of homes. However, I believe you can alsopurchase the same model in black on Amazon Primeif that's more your style. You can also buya larger 2L version on Amazon for a bit more money too.
It's incredibly easy to assemble and get up and running. However, I wasn't too impressed by the short length of the power cable, as this made it difficult to position anywhere but against the wall.

What features does the Hysure 700ml Automatic Dehumidifier have?
The Hysure 700ml Automatic Electric Dehumidifier is fairly limited in terms of its spec. However, it does boast the following features:
- Ultra-Quiet Technology:The Hysure dehumidifier uses 'peltier technology' with no compressor, making it extremely lightweight and quiet. It operates with minimal noise, allegedly allowing you to run it throughout the night without disturbing your sleep.
- Compact Size:This mini dehumidifier's small dimensions make it a convenient choice for a children's nursery or other small indoor spaces.
- 700ml Capacity Tank:The dehumidifier can extract up to 300 ml of moisture daily to help purify the air in small spaces.
- 节能:The model brands itself as an environmentally friendly solution for absorbing damp and condensation in your home.
- Auto Shut Off:This portable moisture absorber automatically shuts itself off when the tank is full and ready for water to be emptied.
How well does it work?
In our guest bedroom we've been suffering frommould on our skirting boards. This is most likely caused by poorhome ventilationallowing a build up of condensation and moisture to form in corners and behind furniture, resulting in mould growth. So I plugged in the Hysure 700ml Automatic Electric Dehumidifier and let it do its thing.
The room is roughly 4m2 and I'm not sure if that strictly qualifies as a 'small' space, but based on the overall results, I'd say it doesn't. After running this dehumidifier in our home for the past 6 months, I've drawn the following conclusions:
Pros
- I've been impressed by its consistent performance. Unlike a similarly priced dehumidifier we had to return within 2 weeks of purchase as it broke, this one shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.
- This small dehumidifier lives up to its promise of quiet operation. The minimal ambient noise it generates doesn't disrupt a good night's sleep.
- Its compact and lightweight design makes it easy to disassemble and empty every few days.
- The automatic shut-off feature eliminates worries about your dehumidifier leaking all over the floor when you forget to empty it.
- In the corner where it was running I did notice a visible improvement to the mould on our skirting boards (see photos above).
Cons
- The power cable is extremely short, so it has to be positioned close to a power source.
- This model is suitable only for very small rooms. I ended up moving it into our 2m2 bathroom, as it didn't massively improve the condensation in the bedroom overall.
- If the noise doesn't affect your sleep, the LED light might. Unfortunately, there's no option to turn it off, so if you place this model in your bedroom, it will serve as an unintended night light as well
- 700ml is not a great deal of moisture and it takes roughly 2.5 days to extract this from the air.
- After 6 months of use I noticed a lot of discolouration inside the dehumidifier (see photos above).
How much does it cost to run?
Dehumidifier running costswill vary depending on the size and spec of your model. The Hysure 700ml Automatic Electric Dehumidifier is fairly inexpensive to run, costing mere pennies each day. This is particularly handy when you need to run it consistently.
My thoughts on the Hysure 700ml Dehumidifier
This compact dehumidifier performs well for its size and has helpedremove mould from the wallin places. However, if you have a seriousunderlyingmould or damp issue in your home this isnotthe dehumidifier for you. The Hysure 700ml Automatic Electric Dehumidifier is an affordable dehumidifier priced under £50 and you should adjust your expectations accordingly.
If price point is the main factor in your buying decisions then you can't go wrong with this model - especially if you're dealing with a minor condensation or occasional damp issues in a small bathroom or spare room. This dehumidifier is perfect if you're trying to achievenormal humidity in a houseor you only have a small room to cover.
However, if you have significant issues with condensation then you should invest in a more serious piece of kit. I recently reviewed amuchlarger and more expensive dehumidifier -the ProBreeze 20L Premium Dehumidifier available on Amazon,我建议购买这个模型the Hysure if you have a bigger home.
Dehumidifiers are a great way to reduce humidity, mould and condensation in your home. However, it is crucial to address any underling issues first bytreating dampat the source and ensuring you have sufficient home ventilation to begin with.
