当谈到削减你的电费账单,你的年代tarting point should be understanding your existing usage.

That way, you can identify where cuts can be made without compromising too much on comfort. It’s estimated that more than 50% of a home’s energy consumption comes from the heating system and hot water, so using smart technology to closely control this can have a big impact on reducing your bills.

That’s where installing a smart heating system can save you money, especially one that gives you visibility and control of multiple rooms. TheWiser smart heating system(opens in new tab)is a good example of this kind of technology. It is designed by British heating company Drayton, and includes a smart room thermostat, heat hub and intelligent radiator thermostats. All of which can be controlled in an App on your mobile phone.

Connects to your smart meter to give you real-time energy costs

You can connect your smart meter to Wiser’s smart heating system. This enables you to see exactly what you are spending in real-time by using the Insights+ feature on the app.

This feature also allows you to set budgets for your energy use and control your spending as well as offering up energy saving tips on how to save more money.

How to save 30% of your energy usage with smart tech

By gaining tighter control of the temperature of individual rooms in your home with a Wiser multi-room smart heating system, it is estimated that you can save as much as 30% on your energy consumption. This is compared to a typical heating system with time control and a basic thermostat.

Wiser smart plugs can take this a step further, giving you control of up to 10 of your electrical appliances on the smartphone app too. The smart plugs from this particular brand also include a wifi booster to make sure they can connect to your wifi system in larger homes.

Make up to £450 of savings on your energy bills

With careful control, Wiser claims its multi-zone smart heating system can save up to £450 on energy bills each year. It does this by allowing you to only heat the rooms you use as well as Wiser’s app having smart modes too, such as Eco and Away mode, that calculate the most economical way to run your heating system. It also will automatically reduce temperatures in your home when it is empty.

When using a smart thermostat and thermostatic radiator valve rather than multi-room technology, it can save you around £295 a year or £157 a year just using smart modes.

Compatible with UFH and electric radiators too

If you have an electrical heating system, Wiser also has electrical heat switches that can be used instead of radiator thermostats. Underfloor heating controllers are also available for UFH systems.
